A Can Of Worms

$20

This is just one way you can help Agros families use sustainable agricultural practices. From erosion or overuse, Agros farmers need to enrich their soil with organic compost. Did you know that worms can help that process and break down any organic substance into rich, life-producing soil? Worms are almost magical!

Item #L04

Pascual Agustín is setting a good example to follow in the Agros community of El Edén in Guatemala. At 65 years of age he manages a self-sustaining plot of land. A unique aspect of his farm is the new worm-composting initiative. Presently more than 100,000 earthworms are producing organic compost for village coffee crops. With higher coffee production Pascual projects being able to repay his land loan within three years! Pascual recently shared that "the worm project provides me with an income so that I have more time to enjoy life together with my sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons".
