100 Feet Of Irrigation Pipe

$250

Without irrigation, a farmer is limited to total dependence on the rain. Irrigation enables a farmer to farm throughout the year. That means year-round production and year-round income. And steady income means food, clothes, and education.

Item #VI03

Sebastián, a member of the Agros community of El Edén, grew up working in the fields cutting coffee and chopping firewood. He worked hard, but struggled to grow enough food to eat. Years later, he now has a family that works and learns together with the help of Agros. Just this year, Sebastián took out a loan to pay for the supplies needed to grow crops and was able to repay the loan with enough to reinvest in his next project: “One of my goals this year is to use a loan to build an irrigation system and grow vegetables. I have seen what kind of profit can be made from diversification and tending your crops carefully.” Sebastián’s eagerness has allowed him to adopt new techniques, such as a drip irrigation system to grow various vegetables year round.
