About The Catalog

Give dignity and hope with just a simple gift to someone you love

By choosing to give a gift in honor of someone you love, you are enabling families across Central America and Mexico to break out of crushing poverty. Working in five countries, Agros focuses on solutions that are holistic, sustainable, and achieve long-term results for entire villages. The gifts in this catalog are not hand-outs. They instead represent the essential elements that enable families to work their own way out of poverty. Each gift is a symbolic purchase that supports the entire mission of Agros, and your donation will be used where it is needed most -- to help thousands of men, women, and children break free from poverty and create new lives.

How does Agros put your gift to work for our villages?

Since 1982, Agros has helped over 10,000 people build new lives for themselves by facilitating land ownership and providing technical assistance, training, capital loans, village infrastructure, and volunteer service teams that support the work and vision of community members.

Over the past 25 years, Agros has successfully forged strategic alliances and partnerships with a variety of national and international development organizations. These alliances, along with the Agros in-country and U.S. staff, maintain a strong commitment to the accountability and success of Agros' villages. All Agros staff members outside of the U.S. are native to their respective countries and understand the cultural nuances in which they work. Agros' genuine commitment to providing hope and opportunity to the rural poor through private land reform has earned the trust of the people we serve.

An alliance between the United Nations Development Program, the World Bank, and the Inter-American Foundation recognized Agros for providing lasting solutions to poverty in Central America. The alliance examined the work of hundreds of organizations in 11 countries throughout Latin America. To be eligible for the award, the groups had to show that they effectively utilized local entities, international entities, and assistance from the private and public sectors to help marginalized people become self-reliant.
